ArielTop
ArielTop
ArielTop is knitted from top to bottom, first the straps, then the two bra cups, after which the top is extended with the back piece. The top has a K/P-pattern that applies throughout the entire work and gives it a unique and put-together look.

Description of difficulty levels
1⭐️ out of 5⭐️
Patterns marked with 1⭐️ are suitable for beginners, there are help videos and no difficult techniques.
2⭐️ out of 5⭐️
Patterns marked with 2⭐️ are suitable for the slightly experienced knitter who still doesn't want difficult techniques but a project with a bit more detail.
3-, 4- and 5⭐️ out of 5⭐️
I don't yet have patterns that complicated or full of difficult techniques if these levels apply. They are simply there so that the knitter can put the degrees of difficulty into perspective.
Needles and knitting tension
Needles and knitting tension
Needles
Circular needle size 4.5 mm (60, 80 or 100 cm) and/or double pointed needle size 4.5 (for tube cord)
Knitting tension
Two threads on needle size 4.5 mm: 10 x 10 cm = 17 sts x 25 r
Sizes and measurements
Sizes and measurements
XS (S) M (L) XL
Chest circumference (widest place, measured on own body): 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 cm
Measurements across the chest (armpit to armpit, measured on own body): 40-42 (42-45) 45-48 (48-50) 50-55 cm
Ease
Ease (negative): 18-24 cm, ie. 18-24 cm is drawn from your measurements on your own body, after which you choose the circumference below that fits these measurements.
Remember that the cups should only cover the chest area, which is why these measurements are small (they therefore have a negative ease of around 5-10 cm).
Measurements of work
Circumference of the top: 65 (68) 72 (74) 76 cm
Width of the cups: 37 (39) 42 (44) 46 cm
Length of the cups: 12 (13) 14 (14,5) 15 cm
Length of the top: 34 (35) 38 (39) 42 cm
You should choose the smaller size if you are standing between two, as the yarn can expand a bit during use.
My ArielTop in the picture above is knitted in a size small, and my measurements are 90 cm around the chest and 76 cm around the waist.
Note: If your measurements do not fit these, you can follow one size for the chest and another for the body piece.
Yarn
Yarn
The yarn spending is approx. 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 g of cotton yarn Infinity Hearts Rose 8/4 (50 g = 176 m), ie. around 4 balls of yarn (considering that it is knitted in double thread).
Tip: you can make do with 3 balls of yarn with specific sizes.
Washing instructions
Washing instructions
Hand wash of approx. 30 degrees with wool soap, leave to soak for 5-10 min.
Lay the project flat on a towel and preferably with underfloor heating until it is completely dry. It is also a good idea to read the yarn type's washing instructions and then assess how best to wash your project.
Remember that your project will take its final shape after being washed, as the stitches are allowed to become more uniform. At the same time, you also wash the excess color out of the material that your project is knitted in. You can always read more about it online or search for videos that can help you with the process.

My name is Christine Lykkegaard. I am the designer and owner behind Lykke Strik and all the tasks that come with it.
